Just a humble question about the 5c capital return.
What happens to the share price ex the return? Is this some form of magic pudding where the share price stays the same[ 44.5c ] and we are suddenly 5 cents better off? Or does the share price drop 5 cents and we are where we started, with total value still at 44.5c? In other words does this really
change our overall wealth?
The way some posters are talking I get the feeling they think we are going to be 5 cents richer after the return. I don't know if that will be the case.
Does anyone have any observations about the general reaction of companies' share price movements after capital returns in general?
