    Hi Tony,

    Stecyk from Griffin Securities tells us that Phylogica is currently evaluating partnerships in 'other applications'; Woolf tells us that he is looking for partners to develop synthetic libraries and Randal J Kirk wants to change the world through synthetic biology.

    Hopefully, all three men end up being in the same room.

    The article in FierceBiotech, Billionaire Kirk grabs $150M round for synthetic biology deals at Intrexon by John Carroll has one outstanding key message;

    "The [whopping $509 million in] cash will be used to finance a whole new slate of collaborations in the field of synthetic biology".

    The article is dated 1 May 2013 which would indicate that Q2 2013 could be a good quarter for deal making. I assume that Kirk has a couple of ideas in mind and might even be consulting Griffin Securities who has put together other deals in the past.

    The $509 million dollar question is whether Phylogica and its phylomer peptides is a stand out candidate for a lucrative partnership deal in the development of synthesised proteins for application in industrial products, agriculture and animal sciences.

    The excellent progress by Le Metier de Beaute in advancing PYC35 in high end cosmetic products is a useful indicator.

    Regards,

    Wayne.
