My understanding is that INDIVIDUAL patents for the HIV, Hep C, NSCLC, Hep B etc trials will be new patents that will have many years before expiry; however there is a patent called the Graham patent which is the gatekeeper of ALL ddRNAi (eg, covers other companies such as Voyager and Gradalis) which runs out in 2018.

The first lot of patents could be worth many billions, however if the Graham patent is extended (due to the unfair and lengthy court process it was subjected to) then this might be worth 10-100 times more.
