MOSCOW, December 20 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the strategic nature of a future Caspian gas pipeline that will pass from Turkmenistan via Kazakhstan to Russia. The tripartite agreement on construction of the Caspian gas pipeline was signed at the Kremlin on Thursday.
“Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan just signed a very important agreement on cooperation in the construction of a Caspian gas pipeline. The construction of this new energy artery will allow securing large-scale and long-term gas supplies to our partners and will become a new serious contribution of our countries in stronger energy security in Europe. Meanwhile, not only on the Eurasian space, but on a broader scale,” Putin said after the signing ceremony.
“The importance of signing this tripartite accord was noted during our Thursday common telephone conversation me and the Kazakh president had with the Turkmen president. We confirmed our common adherence to the persistent fulfillment of the current mutually beneficial agreements,” Putin said.
