Castle Minerals (ASX: CDT) is targeting gold in Ghana, and holds an extensive landholding of 11,000 square kilometres within the country.

In the latest round of reverse circulation drilling at the Wa Project, Castle has confirmed that the Baayiri prospect area is host to widespread gold mineralisation.

Highlights include:

- 15 metres at 2.73 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 30 metres, including 10 metres at 4.0g/t gold;
- 20 metres at 1.08g/t gold from 20 metres; and
- 3 metres at 1.86g/t gold from surface.

Drilling followed up the recent Baayiri discovery hole intercept of 55 metres at 1.82g/t gold, which Castle said has confirmed a strongly altered NNE striking zone of gold mineralisation.

Importantly - this zone is open in all directions.

Drilling has also intersected 3 metres at 1.86g/t gold from an area 4.2 kilometres to the east from a hole designed to test a single point soil anomaly.

The results have made the Baayiri prospect the number one exploration target for Castle, with the company to now focus an intensive exploration effort on the area.
