re: some numbers / analyser On top of crook mud, they tried to extract the oil too fast for the damaged completion, the combination of which allowed large quantities of seawater to move down the liner and into the well.

The column has now had ample time to settle and sort it's disturbance out.
Pinpointing the top of the column with 3D seismic plus the latest drilling techniques should allow maximum extraction of the crude at good flow rates.

The only potential problem, and it is miniscule, is that the oil could have migrated, but this is highly unlikely.
