hey oms
your generation has missed out on some great music and times.....
the majority of the music today I class a "girly lollipop music" or " yank ganster trash"
I think my generation and the one before (50 & 60s music) had the best times.....
some of the bands/artists I have seen live include....
slade as mentioned
led zepplin (unbelievable)
uriah heap (loudest concert I ever heard)
george thorogood (pub audience about 100 also great)
cold chisel (from the very beginning can you imagine having to pay 50 cents to see them)
mickey finn (fantastic early adelaide band)
dr feelgood (best pub concert I have ever seen did they rock the joint)
lobby lloyd and the coloured balls (early days)
billy thorpe (early days)
ol55 (early days)
stars
rose tattoo (early days)
arial (indelible murceps & ?)
daddy cool (in the begining) fantastic
acdc (in the begining) fantastic
the angels (the moonshine jug and string band, the keystone angels, the angels)
icehouse (flowers) (in the begining)
bo diddley (free concert in a pub in sydney)
and recently the eagles who were absolutely unbelievable!
hows this though......I went to a wedding once where cold chisel and mickey finn played at the reception in the backyard of a house....met bonn scott there).....
barnsey doing donuts on the back lawn on a honda 750/4 with allan dallow on the back...
barnsey and mossy drinking beer from big pots from the kitchen because there were no glasses left....
ahh those were the days....
allan was the one of the guys chisel sang about and dedicated the song "knocking on heavens door" to....
allan and billy were killed when the roadie van the were driving rolled and caught fire and burnt to death.....
nice guys...rip!
