one lil story to tell ... true too.
40 was selling evening papers in east grinstead in sussex uk one sat night. a black cab pulled up. down went the passenger window. where's the 'white hall' i was asked. (white hall was the local night spot place lol) poor ole 40 was just yards from the place trying to make a copper or two. he gave directions. who was in the cab ? the rolling stones lol. why ? cos the group 'the animals' couldn't make it and the rolling stones were filling in. true guys. stones ... just filling in. lol. what a laugh looking back. early 60's. the beatles were drumming up at the time. the stones were a bit later. not much i might add. poor ole 40 was too busy making money so he could retire early. he did that ok but never made the pop star.
