The biggest problems in the US food basin are certainly not the IPCC`s global models of warming but overcultivation and topsoil loss ,failure to rotate crops to replace nitrogen,reduction in diversity of grain strains and removal of good cropping land due to urban sprawl.In addition strong population growth has meant marginal lands are brought into production and fertilizer overuse then changes soil composition and more topsoil loss. Obama`s lack of understanding of basic science means more wind farms and higher energy costs to farmers limiting output. Catalyst is an alarmist show with band wagon guests.
