Don't just think in terms of equity, a common occurrence in the pharma space is for a big pharma to buy into a drug development program not a company.
For example a big pharma firm could say to BIT that they are interested in funding phase 3 trials for a specific compound or disease and in return they receive a large percentage of the future revenue from that process.
An HIV specialist for example might not be interested in a hep treatment so would not want an equity stake in the whole of BIT just an equity stake in the HIV relevant stuff.
