I am still confused by it all.

I am not convinced even if we did eliminate man made carbon that it would have any effect what so ever on climate change. I am less convinced how we will change anything at all with a carbon tax that carbon polluters simply pass onto consumers.
To me it simply means that we will produce the same amount of carbon and consumers will pay for it.
Surely rather than penalizing (taxing) we would be better off rewarding good behaviour (carbon reduction) with incentives.

I simply don't get it but perhaps it is just the way it is being sold?

Maybe some one here can enlighten me
