Why do you say that?
Confession has long a way for the RCC to gather information on powerful people that can be used against them at some future point. But where do you draw the line? Dobbing in child abuse discovered during confession in one thing but how long before they start dobbing people for any kind of victimless crimes or mere disobedience? Who would set the rules on what can be disclosed to the state and what can't? Is the Church under God or under mere government?
