According the the ABS, in 2019 there were 3,948,811 students enrolled in 9,503 schools, two-thirds (65.7%) of students were enrolled in government schools, 19.5% in Catholic schools and 14.8% in independent schools

If I was in charge of the Catholic Church in Australia I would make the following changes effective immediately:

    1. Ignore all the bullsh&t and resistance from the Vatican. Lead the reform agenda in Australia, and let the rest of the world follow.
    2. Mandate 50% female management structure to be achieved by 2023.
    3. Mandate 50% female priests by 2030
    4. Liquidate unnecessary wealth assets and fully compensate all victims of the church's crimes.
    5. Sack anyone who expresses homophobic views.
    6. Allow priests to marry and live a normal balanced life.
    7. Return the focus back to community service. Not wealth, power, bureaucracy, mindless dogma and the associated corruption that follows human folly.

2000 and 20 years after that bloke died (myth or real, who cares), the documentary series below demonstrates the folly of the current management structure and the ensuing cancer it produces.

If the reforms I have listed above do not occur, the Catholic Church is finished.

Perhaps that will be poetic justice. Perhaps that is fate.

However, 20% of our student population will receive a sub standard education if we don't have the collective courage to effect change.

    20% of our future.
