    Outperformed what can I ask?

Catholic Super last 3 yrs Aust shares 17.74%
Try a few well run Smaller Company funds or Resources eg Celeste Smaller Coys Wholesale 3 yrs 25.58%.

CS Overseas shares 3yrs = 6.87%, Colonial W'sale Global Index Shares - Hedged (who wouldn't hedge the AUD in the last few years?) = 20.14%.
Doesn't mean it will continue to outperform and they are different portfolios, but that doesn't seem to matter too much by the look of other posts here. Oh, the above are after running fees and taxes but switching costs would need to come off.

CS added about 0.33% of members funds to reserves in 2010. I'd ask whether that was deducted 'after' the returns were declared. It may not, and also may not be the only creative reporting that IF's do. Note that these reserves aren't just about 'smoothing' returns but may also be for IT investments and other overheads that other funds have to pay out of fees collected, which puts a question mark around the transperancy or otherwise of IF's, but that's just my thinking, I may be wrong.
