Earlier this year, out of fear of us becoming a force again, and with the specific intent to try and remove our homeground advantage, the media began fabricating stories about chucking and ducking and the behaviour of our home crowd. There was no mention of Geelong who have a great history of going to their knees over the last 5 years. The Cats are the pets of the Vic media and untouchable. This is perfectly transparent to us over here.

The Eagles currently have 56,000 members with over 20,000 on the waiting list. They are all happy, affluent and have always had a deep suspicion of the the Victorian Football Media. It is pretty much all we get over here. All 'footy shows' are out of Melbourne and the crap the Eagles get is astounding. Freo will get it too when they are seen as relevant.

According to a recent newspaper poll the breakdown of supporters in this state is 60% Eagles, 30% Freo and the rest support eastern states teams. Now granted those numbers may be a touch skewed toward the Eagles because Freo fans are more likely to be found sleeping under a newspaper than reading it, but it is a pretty good estimate.

These fans now have had enough and are vocalising it. Only 3 years ago we were told we were a bunch of old, Chardonnay sipping grandmas who golf-clapped our achievements. How things change!

When the new stadium gets built here we will easily fill it with 60-70,000 screaming, howling, booing Eagles fans. I can't wait. Vic coaches won't want to leave their boxes.
