EYCI recently passed 700c, up from 600c in Jan and 500c last June. This is due to increasing demand (incl from restockers replenishing herds to benefit from improving weather conditions) and ongoing supply shortages (cattle numbers currently sitting at 20 year low)
These record prices will obviously have an adverse impact on ELD live export, but in recent years live export has become a much smaller component of our business mix and it seems any losses will be more than offset by strong growth in our retail, agency and financial services segments.
The high price of bulls is making me a bull on a high price for ELD. Views on any of this?
