This article is very reflective of WHC market performance whose sp has halved in a mere number of months. The WHC official is attempting to displace blame towards others and not accept full responsibility for WHC's lamentable predicament, not the least being the Board approved reckless and wasteful buyback program. Why is it, when prevailing market conditions are favourable, the Board and executives accept the acclaim, high fives are on offer, and the customary bonuses? Conversely, when there is a cyclical downturn, and the only Board strategy is to continue with mega $Mn outlay in a buyback program, and point the finger of blame to those Labor Govts, whose anti coal policies were well known for some time.
