It's interesting that the response to your post has been less... vitriolic than I normally see when somebody announces they're shorting. Perhaps people are so enraptured by the fundamentals of this stock that they're welcoming shorters expecting them to end up functioning as donators on the business end of a squeeze?
Anyway, you're correct that this thing has been going straight up for a long time, I still think it's undervalued in absolute terms but in terms of short term price action of course it could do anything, and if it's looking for an excuse to go down, it'll take one, even an irrational one (stupidly overheated uranium miners last year trending down for ~3 months after Taishan comes to mind). I'm willing to hold, though; assuming the coal price doesn't outright dump in the near future, the FCF on this thing will steamroll any silly technical downward motion on a quarterly timeframe, and I'd rather not trade between neutral/long and risk missing the boat on any shocks upward on quarterly results / dividend news. Ofc, if your thesis is the coal price taking a crap, that's a different story - though there are probably more leveraged cos to short for that scenario on US markets.
I hope your short position isn't too large, and for my own sake I hope that statement turns out to have been a kind one
