I was just looking at the SP charts going back to 2007 and noticed that when I zoomed out all the way the last 6 months is basically a straight vertical line where the SP gained 100% in that time.
All previous strong bull runs never saw such uninterrupted gains in such a long timeframe. All had 1-3 month consolidation periods where the SP would move sideways before the next leg up. I can see where @FreedomInvestor is coming from but it suggests something completely different to me.
We had a consolidation in December. There have been two consolidations in the last two bull runs so the worst we are likely to see is sideways price movement for 1-2 months (which would be great news for the buyback) while we make bank from these coal prices. Charting here is out the window, basing future SP performance on historical SP movements is a bit silly considering we have a coal that is almost 4 times what it was during the last two cycles.
