I thought the Auction on the 22nd was from the contractors at Cawse not Norlisk. According to this article it was Norlisk doing the sale.
IMO that is a firm confirmation that Norlisk want out with Cawse. Maybe this is start of things to come!
"Nickel equipment auction a one off says analyst
Over 300 items from mothballed nickel mine Cawse went under the hammer yesterday, netting the former owner Norilsk over $5 million - just a fraction what the gear is worth.
The Russian nickel giant closed doors on its WA production late last year, with four mines going into either care and maintenance or total shutdown and by the looks of things they have no intention to open up again anytime soon.
But independent analyst Peter Strachan says don't expect other troubled miners to follow Norilsk to the auction house.
He says most mines can re-deploy equipment and those who bought up yesterday bagged themselves a bargain."
