Congratulations, I envy you. The hardest part is just holding on but I'm learning to do that better, I got a fresh start in Canada and hoping not to make the same mistakes of letting go too soon.
May I ask what your net investment in CBA was, how much it's grown to, and the annual cash dividend you get from it (with franking)? Just want to get an idea of the magic of long-term compounding.
The only thing that frustrates me about CBA is that the dividends are paid twice a year, which I feel is a bit antiquated. You wouldn't want your salary to be paid in two instalments over 12 months, so not sure why Aussie dividend companies take the same approach. Hopefully we get a shift towards quarterly dividends on the ASX.
