It is little recognised that a rumour exists that we almost lost one of the big 4 during the GFC. The rumour is that one had a NDE and another bank was preparing to adsorb.
yes the Au banks are wide moat, well defended and don’t collapse like the US banks but don’t kid yourself. These are debt ridden, higher risk vehicles guaranteed to an extent but not risk free.
tread with caution, no way l am purchasing more banks regardless of price 1) I am risk adverse l don’t want debt 2) l want my company to pay dividends without government interference 3) my weighting are just fine
