Having sold all my CBA shares, many of which were purchased on the float, up to $160 & now reeling in the interest on the cash at over 1.7 times the CBA share yield will be nothing compared to what I will make on SMN later this year.
Why would you hold or for that matter buy CBA with a 2.8% yield? The downside risk is considerable, particularly if there is a global disruption to financial markets. The first share to be sold would be the one showing the largest profit & the single share with the largest percentage of the portfolio. CBA would initially hold up & as others fall without a sale being made with no buyers, it would become the seller's best option to sell.
