You can use that argument as a reason not to invest in anything. Also you still need to account that franking credits on that income when you compare the yield to bank interest.
You need to ask yourself what does better over the long term? Money in a bank account battling inflation or investing in stocks, property or something else over a 20-30 year period?
If you are trying to argue what is better in the next 6 months, 1, 2 years who knows. Your guess might be right, or you could be wrong. It's a coin toss. Over a reasonable period the answer is pretty clear and the only reason I have such a large amount of CBA shares to sell in the first place is that two generations of investors who had long term thinking, not short term focus.
