Sorry Joffrey, the last two dividends were $2.50 final & $2.25 interim = $4.75.
If you have your CBA shares in a self-managed super fund in pension mode. as mine is, you can sell your CBA shares & not attract capital gains.
Otherwise, if you have other investments showing a loss, they can be sold & offset capital gains when selling CBA. Those loss shares can be re-purchased if desired. This is at least a method of selling some of your CBA holding without paying CGT.
It is not rocket science, although some of you seem afraid to take a profit because you are worried about CGT. Paying CGT is optional if you manage your portfolio well.
