Just when I thought it was safe to get back in the water, it seems that the relief from the tariff wars may be short-lived. China has announced that no trade talks can take place, at least not until Trump withdraws his 145% impost. Europe have also signalled that trade talks will be a complex, long-drawn-out affair. Market volatility brought about by this uncertainty may continue for as long as we have a clown in the White House, surrounded by his cronies.
CBA is not immune to volatility, but it is less affected by tariff wars. At times like these, punters head for safety. Even a paltry 2% FF dividend looks good compared to a potential capital depreciation of -10% elsewhere. The XAO is already down 7% from its ATH in FEB/25. P/E ratios, Elliot waves, RSIs, Bollinger bands, stochastic oscillators etc...count for nothing.
Perhaps the market is not as "irrational" as some have suggested it is. The game has changed, folks - everything is relative. GLTAH.
