BTW I agree that it's more likely to be a strategic holding rather than a precursor to a full takeover. As I understand it the UK operation of AMP has unquantifiable obligations to some policy holders that may take years to play out. It would be a brave insto that would take it over under those circumstances.
Still a very positive result for s/holders anyway.
