Bacci, I think you may find that the gov't, in providing these guarantees, have already received several billion in fees and I think by the time the period ends, will have received over 5 billion.
Not bad money when you consider that the banking organisations involved are operating under the tightest scrutiny around, (any of these go under during the GFC?) and are unlikely to fail as a result.
