    "Doh! I should've fixed my mortgage rates when I had a chance."

    I think that sentiment will become very common now.

    The last time rates were high 2007, 2008 it was due to monetary policy, to restrain inflation. This time if rates go up, it will be due to increased government borrowing (see CK's bonds post).
