If the market will go higher so will AMP. If it continues to go higher to, say, 4500 then AMP will surely go close to $8.
Within 1-2 years AMP could be back at $10.
Launching a takeover would make sense as they might get it cheaper than they will in 2 years time. A takeover at $8-8.50 might get it.
Plus the banks can use their inflated scrip instead of cash, would entice many shareholders to accept.
