I note that Visa are running a trial programme with restaurants, whereby if they only accept Visa for payment, they will receive a one off payment of $10,000.
It would appear the cashless society is not far away.
The benefits are many and varied.
Just imagine the rivers of gold the Government would suddenly start receiving from just GST & Company tax alone, as evasion was curtailed. We could probably see a flat 20% income tax introduced!
Society's bottom feeders would move to a faraway land.
