If you didnt already know this then you aren't very aware about what banks are investing in. It has been happening for ages. I know of private investors that are filling the breach .
Keep investing in thermal coal assets if you think they will give you a great return . You must see something that the banks cant see. I am sure thermal coal will be a winner in the long term ( Not )
