I watched the program last night.

The victims of the FP were all educated people.That is really troubling.
It goes to show that part of anybody's education has got to be "how do I manage my own money"
You simply cannot trust the advice of the professional. There are too many sharks in the pool.
When the CBA got to know about the shenaNINGANS their response was truly deplorable............totally DEVOID of any sense of compassion and empathy. That is how a SHARK treats the small fish............there to be devoured.
Generally speaking an education in finance (present value, compounding, debt and equity etc) is good for everybody.
At one time the people thought the priests and ministers and imams were only ones able to pray and so they outsourced the spiritual wants, now that is no longer the case, especially after the awful child sex abuse by the clergy.
And so it now is with the FPs, let us strip them of their perceived superiority in financial affairs. Sorry to good FPs, but you know what I mean.
It is good that we all have financial knowledge.
