Still cant see how this is so. At the very least all secured loans are easily covered by the value of the assets. Banks simply sell the assets for any price that recoups their loans. How do they call this, mortgagee sale? There would be a number of buyers who would be willing to attain CNP assets at the right bargain-base price.
Sure other unsecured lenders would be affected but how would CBA really lose sleep over that?
I understand that Centro might be weighing on CBA investors minds. Just as the myriad of other companies are sold off to irrational prices due to the current global market sentiment. This doesn't necessarily reflect on a company's true position and worth.
D-Day is nearing. Will be very interesting.
