I understand the situation of drawing down an income stream. I'm drawing mine down now. My sister is in a similar situation to you - has to draw down $250K a year. She does this from dividends received each year. She actually gives away $250-500k a year to charities to reduce her personal tax on income. Everyone has their own reasons for what they do.
