The main reason people buy something is for its utilitarian value. i.e. You buy a car because it gets you from A to B. For the status perhaps. With CBA, apart from the usual dividend, prospect of capital gains etc. Many use CBA shares (sophisticated, LIC, Insto etc) as collateral. I see this more and more these days and really CBA is one of the most liquid and acceptable ones out there.
