Exactly. In essence it is a numbers game. Which makes it specific to your own set of numbers.
I'm in my early 40s. Time is your most precious asset. Those that spend too much of it on HC or social media should really think twice. Personally that means I have another couple of decades of holding on to CBA. Looking forward to the ups and got the cash for topping up on the downs. It would need to be something really compelling for CBA to leave the portfolio. Unviable business model, WW3 but then again I have other assets that should perk up in a negative scenario.
My CBA specific numbers... 3,000 units of CBA is worth $477k @ $159. Which makes it around 2.1% of my net worth. Not really something I would call edge of your seat sizing now is it. Yes it would still suck If it went to zero. Nowhere near my 22kg bullion holding ($2.89m) but even that helps me sleep at night. Everyone should have around 10% of your holding in gold. Not as investment but insurance. Another GFC or Monetary reset is just around the corner. That is how precarious the financial system is, and I would know, financials is where I made my living. I kid you not the GFC could have been really bad. But that story is for another day...
