    Hi,
CBA is paying out 2.95% plus franking , a very mean return , unlikely to improve. Hard to make a case for investing.
NAB 4.47% plus franking , a lot easier to make a case.
So , in response to your not understanding our obsession with banks , I think perhaps your argument is not as strong as with the non CBA part of the sector.
Even less strong if our banks had restrained themselves and avoided overseas adventures.

With hindsight , everybody should have invested in the big 7 US stocks , but going forward , in a world where the rules based systems are creaking , the tax free holidays afforded to multinationals probably coming to an end , is Microsoft better than WBC?

Now , the question remains , if you wish to invest on the ASX , apart from CBA , what is there obviously better than the banks?

disc: sold all my CBA , 25% of the rest of my banks.
Money then put mostly into term deposits, but as much from general unease than anything else.

    cheers
