What is the point of owning CBA shares that are yielding less than 2.8% if you are not going to sell?
You have money locked away earning way under bank interest with the distinct possibility that there is more downside potential than upside for the share price in the short to medium term. Earnings have been flat for 10 years so there is little likelihood of any significant change. As the share price rises the yield decreases & the risk increases.
We are overdue for a total market shake up that puts us into a bear market. Would you still want to hold an under performing stock with a decreasing share price?
A major conflict involving U.S.A., China & or Russia would likely lead to a market crash. If Russia do not agree to stop the war against Ukraine or China forcing themselves on Taiwan or any other neighbour could be the catalyst for the market to crash.
Do you really want to risk a possible 30% fall in your investment for less than a 2.8% yield?
