I know its hard to get that trader mentality out of the way. Even with a portfolio in compound accretion (CBA still included wink.png ) I still have the urge to trade every now and then. When logically being patient and having the conviction (and the cash) when the opportunity presents itself, is all you really need to do in the market.

I can't say that I disagree regarding BHP. I myself have been adding to the LT holding.

However moving one allocation into another is like standing in a queue to a Woollies checkout way out in front. Then moving to back of a different checkout. It is a gamblers folly.

Investors understand that buying high on strong upside momentum is always tempting, as that’s when traders feel the best about any sector/stock. Bullishness and capital inflows soar as stocks power higher. But over time far-larger accretions are gained by buying low, adding new positions and/or adding to LT positions when a stock is out of favour.
