    Decent article in the AFR (bit of a rarity these days, they're too scared to comment fearlessly on any of the protected species in Australia; miners, polluters, banks, the UAP, Future Fund because they're hopelessly conflicted) about the run on SVIB commenting that many of the free market techpreneurs usually telling governments to get out of the markets are now those same folk squealing like pigs for government to come in and save them. Maybe they'd have more capacity if the swine actually paid some taxes.

    You make fair comment on the bank run in the US but (apart from eliciting a bit of a temporary buyers' strike) I'm not sure where any local banking exposure might lie.

    Are you suggesting there's the possibility of contagion here (specifically to CBA) beyond a bit of impact to sentiment? Personally I think the CBA share price is still stretched at this level but I'm struggling to see any direct impact.
