    The end game is to accumulate as much Fiat Currency as you can then exchange it into assets that appreciate in value. Keeping in mind that Fiat loses half of its value by 2% each year. So in 25 years you've lost 50% of purchasing power.

    In that sense CBA shares is a good repository of your value long term. It gives you dividends of more than 2% a year and capital appreciation of more than 2% a year. Exchanging good assets/CBA back to fiat should only be done when there are better assets to exchange it to. Changing it to $ for longer term is never a good idea.
