Hi Dabble ,
i found the thread as a whole very difficult to read , lost surprisingly little info putting him/her on ignore.
CBA is a phenomenon , it is Oz's default bank , probably will remain so until all those little kiddies brainwashed by school banking die off.
However, size does matter as well , unless you are playing with big exposures to non-vanilla banking , or blowing up billions overseas, you are pretty safe with banks here.
That is how people see cba , that is why they pay a premium.
I have had the banks for all this century, it seems as if , mostly, the one I had to sell to rebalance my portfolio a bit , was CBA.
