today's AFR "pick any equity capital markets banker or fund manager and their viewpoint is virtually unanimous...CBA has well and truly stuffed up.....stuffed up and also potentially broken the law.....whichever way you look at it, CBA comes out with major egg on its face. Either the bank didn't have a handle on bad debts; or it had been selling new shares for the past week without disclosing market sensitive information. Neither is a good look for a top 10 company in Australia....and while Merrill Lynch hasn't exactly covered itself in glory, CBA's response under crisis of simply blaming its broker has made the egg on its face stink even more..."
Terry McCrann is still putting the boot in as well, saying a couple of heads should roll.
