The shepherding of a successful trial is no small matter. Something that is already fraught with hazards and stumbling blocks is best conducted in a culture (medicine, research) that is familiar. To start. Simple things make all the difference. Language/translation, just the most simple misunderstanding can snowball. It's a non starter. If TT taught the company anything at all it is that design of trial AND the resulting recruitment, management etc. etc. have huge implications. With all things equal would it be worth saving a few Rubles? Hell no! Not even close. We've conducted one trial in 20+ years, and the reason for it being terminated and the exit of big holders ahead of Mums and Pops (inside info) are still not entirely clean and clear. There have been mixed messages about the reality of the trial being stopped. Not enough patients meeting criteria/overly cautious protocol etc. vs. readily available treatments eroding the market (they knew that heading into HCV, Gilead didn't come out of the blue).
