Yes, The loan was settled before he left Range, but not by CCC. The construction of this repayment was a bit vague, but I have to dig up the announcement, in where it was mentioned.
PL lend that money without telling shareholders, who had to read it in an announcement much later on.
By the time it was due for repayment, CCC was stuffed and it would look not very good for PL, if he lost that kind of shareholders money. He also resigned from CCC as a director some months earlier, but strangely enough he rejoined the BOD soon after the loan was settled with Range. So some other entity assisted with this loan repayment, as CCC had no money. Make up your own mind who had an interest in settling this debt and who assisted this transaction.
Why re-join the CCC board so soon after, if it wasn't to make sure he wanted his alledged money back.
