I think it has to do with news that CCL will be renegotiating the pricing on syrup with TCCC next year. Currently CCL pay for syrup based on volume and since they are using less syrup (due to smaller serving sizes) but are actually earning a higher margin, TCCC want to change the pricing to be based on some part of revenue rather than volume.
This is the same pricing model that TCCC use with other bottlers around the world.
Definitely a gross overreaction by the market. As the negotiations are not due to start until next year, how could anyone possibly quantify the expected cost to CCL.
Also agree on your comment regarding clown brokers with personal agendas!
