    re: ccv - jebigabre jebigabre,

In the specialty retail sector CCV looks like it has a good future in my opinion. It has been a great recovery from a near extinction experience a few years ago. Based on the 1st half report last year I had high hopes that CCV would be sitting at a price of at least 50 cents by now - but the 2nd half report - hence full year disappointed me.

I hold some - but not a heap and happy to hold until 1st half report .

In terms of performance CCV ranked #1 in 2004 1st and 2nd half in the Retailing sector based on how I rank them (mainly eps growth, operating margin growth, ROA growth, revenue growth, Operating Margin % and ROA %) - up from 7th and 4th in 2003, which was up from 10th and nowhere in 2002).

In the past 2 years or 4 reporting periods:-

eps has grown at rates of 11%, 200%, 127% and 33% (this disappointed!!!)

Operating margins have increased to 24% from 15%

Return on Assets has gone from about 9% to 26%

revenue growth has been 38%, 34%, 28% and 19% (again disappoined!!!)

Retained profits have gone from negative to about $7 million, cashflow has improved dramatically and book value has grown at rates of -66%, +40%, +53% and +59%.

Only thing missing now is a dividend while debt levels were reduced and a buyback was under way - I wouldn't be surprised to see a dividend announced soon.

Do your own research as my numbers could be wrong!!!
And the past is no guarantee of the future.

    all the best.
