hey @Mungaman, that list is for highest grade mines (interesting read, thanks @phillop) but the truly great deposits ie largest, longest life mines aren't in this list because they are typically porphyry systems which can be mined profitably at quite low grades for many decades because of the vast tonnage they can contain. Eg Newcrest is working Cadia East in NSW, which has at least another 30 years life in it I believe, and grades only about 0.25% copper. Escondida, the worlds biggest, owned by Rio and BHP, similarly grades sub 1%.
