PS oh that was a deliberate event as I fully believed I was an indestructible 18yo - all to make an impression as we dismounted to the tune of 30 cal machine guns. (there were no plastic blanks for 50 cals). Fun Glory days! I can never forget the look on the CO's face (did you just do that on purpose or did you fall from the sky?)
I would trade anything to have these modern CODAN comms of today let alone body armour. All we wore were khaki cotton rags.
